Today a group of children from Year 5 and 6 from Waverley Primary School and from Lemington Riverside visited Lemington Cemetery as part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, organised by MP Catherine McKinnell.
It started with an introduction led by Catherine.
After, Stephen Liversage (Regional Supervisor of CWGC) gave a brief explanation about how they maintain and preserve the graves.
Then the children were set off to inspect the graves as the CWGC officers would do!
This included checking if you can read it 2 metres away and if it is 'plum' (It is standing up straight).
Well done to all of the children involved!
